Shotover Productions was established in 2009 by Michael Gribbin following his move to Sydney. Since 1996, Michael has worked in the TV industry in Britain and Australia and filmed, edited and produced programs for networks including; Channel 4 Television, Channel 5, Sky Sports, CNBC and Network Ten in Australia.
Based on Sydney’s North Shore, we offer a wide range of production services to meet both small and large scale productions. Our work ranges from directing live events, producing and filming documentaries, corporate films, sports and News programs and supplying production crews and HD Wireless camera links to clients. Below is a recent production we shot for The Australian Ballet.
It’s been a great start to 2017 with Shotover Productions being involved in a huge array of productions around the world. Recently, we have worked with Sunset + Vine directing the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Melbourne, filming the XCAT World Series in Fujairah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and The Gold Coast and The Extreme Sailing Series in Sydney, Singapore and Cardiff. Michael also filmed the official documentary on the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Race for IMG and worked with BT Sport on the coverage of the Australia cricket Tests in 2016 and 2017.
For the 2016 NRL season, we have again been commissioned to supply an HD Wireless camera solution for the Wests Tigers. Using our Boxx Meridian system, we can transmit a live HD feed with zero latency from camera to the large screens at ANZ Stadium, Leichardt Oval and Campbelltown. We also worked with South Sydney Rabbitohs as they celebrated their long-awaited 2014 NRL Grand Final at Redfern Oval in October and in July 2016, we are supplying the HD wireless cameras for Mister Maker Live across Australia and New Zealand
Michael has also continued working with the Sydney Opera House, directing the 9 hour broadcast of All About Women, Beethoven’s Piano Concertos 3, 4 & 5 for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Gurrumul with the SSO and recently talks with British comedian Jennifer Saunders, Arianna Huffington and Stephen Hawking live via hologram on the concert hall stage. Michael has also filmed a large number of performances at SOH with our Canon C300, including James Blake, Damon Albarn, Max Richter and The Gypsy Kings.
In the corporate world, we have also recently made a number of videos for IBM, CNBC, EY, GE and Huawei.
In 2013 and 2012, we completed 9 films promoting sailing for Yachting Australia and filmed a 10 minute program on the work of the Australian Red Cross for Euronews. Michael also worked as the Summaries Producer at the Olympics in 2012 for the host broadcaster covering the sailing in Weymouth. In 2011, we continued our work with Yachting Australia at Sail Melbourne, and produced and filmed numerous documentaries throughout the USA, Asia and Australia for Sportsbrand Media Group. In 2010, we were awarded the television production for the Sail Down Under Series by Yachting Australia. We filmed the Olympic Class events in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne during December 2010. We also completed the post production of 21 x 25 minute episodes of The Barefoot Investor for Network Ten. The series was nominated for Most Outstanding Lifestyle Program at the 2010 Astra Awards.
